Frequently asked
questions
What is L.A.M.E. Club?
L.A.M.E. (Layout and Media Experts) is Florida Southern College’s graphic design club, created for students to collaborate on projects, build portfolios, get feedback, and gain real-world experience selling their work.
Who can join L.A.M.E.?
Any FSC student interested in graphic design, media, or creative projects is welcome—no experience required!
How often does L.A.M.E. meet?
We meet every other week for hands-on projects and portfolio work.
What kind of projects does the club work on?
We work on posters, stickers, buttons, digital design, and small portfolio-building assignments. Members can also bring their own projects for feedback.
What happens at First Friday tabling events?
We sell student-made work at Downtown Lakeland’s First Friday events, giving members experience in marketing and sales. All proceeds go back into club supplies and future events.
Can I sell my own work at tabling events?
Yes! As long as you're an active member, you can submit designs for club sales. We’ll handle printing and selling, and all profits support the club.
Do I need to be a graphic design major to join?
Nope! Anyone with an interest in design, media, or creative work is welcome.
How do I become a member?
Just show up to a meeting! We can walk you through signing in through engage. We don’t have dues—just bring your creativity and willingness to participate.
Can I still join if I’m not great at design yet?
Absolutely! Our meetings and events are designed to help you learn and improve.
How can I place a custom order?
You can submit a request through our website’s contact form or visit us at a First Friday or Student art market event.
Can I see examples of club work online?
Yes! We showcase student work on our website and social media.
How can I support L.A.M.E. if I’m not a student?
You can support us by purchasing student-made work at one of our events, placing a custom order, or donating to our Venmo.
